This year I am running the London Marathon for CLIC Sargent. The reason I decided to support this charity is because in the summer of 2019 a close friend of mine Darren and Charlotte's daughter Amelie, was diagnosed with Cancer at the age of 6. CLIC have and continue to support the family.
The impact of cancer to a family is not only physical and emotional but also financial, research shows parents spend an average of £600 more every month when their child has cancer and is going through treatment. This is usually spent on commuting to and from hospital, adjustments to the home, loss of earnings of a parent and additional support or childcare for siblings. CLIC Sargent provides day-to-day support for each child, young person and family, from information and guidance, to clinical and specialist play care. The charity also tries to help where possible with legal and financial advice to ease the burden families feel.
If you are able to donate anything no matter how little it would be greatly appreciated.
