Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Sponsorship page.

Living with cancer is not easy, especially when it happens to someone close to you. My partner has had breast cancer for 7 years now and bravely endures regular treatment in hospital that would try the most patient of people, but she bears it with a smile on her face. This is made easier by all the support she receives from friends and from cancer networks.

Now it is time to offer a little bit back to those who have helped and can offer support to others in similar circumstances. I have completed 2 challenge walks across Scotland from coast to coast, west to east, followed by England, covering 300 miles in all, accompanied by my dog Rufus. I won't lie, it was a blast  despite being tough! However, it would be great to think a simple pleasure of walking for miles could raise money to offer back to cancer support networks, allowing them to continue offering the support my partner has enjoyed for the past 7 years, and will continue with others in the future.

The walk was done in 2 stages:

Walk 1

Across Scotland from West to East, Fort William to Inverness. This walk has already been completed covering 75 miles over 5 days, and was completed between 23rd May to 28th May 2010.

Walk 2

Across England West to East from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire. This walk was 200 miles, across 3 National Parks and across the Lake District. This walk was completed over 12 days and was done 23rd August to 3rd Septmber 2010.

Anything you give would be really appreciated . I will be posting updates on my blog page set up for this challenge with photos and videos, if for nothing else, to prove I actually did it! Go to my blog at http://ramaC2C.blogspot.com .
