My story

The Great South Run is a nice run - 10 miles along the flat of Portsmouth. I did it last year in the pouring rain.

This year though, I will be running in an enormous pig costume  - hard enough to wear for a couple of hours doing a street collection, probably a lot, lot harder to run in!

I'm doing this on behalf of Compassion in World Farming, a charity that campaigns to raise welfare standards in farming, not just in the UK but globally. For instance, it's through their efforts that free range products are becoming more commonplace on the supermarket shelves.

If you'd like more information about the work of Compassion in World Farming, please follow the link opposite.

Thanks for your time, and hopefully thanks for your sponsorship too!

Well done Simon. Great effort. Shame I couldn't be there for it this year (watching and cheering, not running). Donation by James Randall 28/10/09

Well done. Can't imaging how hot it was in that suit. Good to run with you at last. Great effort! See you at the Mince Pie 10! Donation by Venus & Andy 26/10/09
