At AHOY we use the medium of sailing to break down many of the barriers and
divides that exist within today's society, to bring together people from
different walks of life and backgrounds.

Through the activities and courses at AHOY, we teach and train people not
only how to sail or row, but also about helping others, so that they can
then go on to teach and help others.

Our primary objective is working with disadvantaged youth and people with
disabilities, however, the Centre caters for all - young, disabled and
retired alike. It offers them all the experience, opportunities and new
horizons gained through water-based activities.

Firstly, many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the past 6 months a group of friends and I have been in training for the Great London River Race 2009 taking place on Saturday 5th September (http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk). The race takes place on the Thames covering a hand-blistering 22 miles from Greenwich to Richmond in a Waterman Cutter rowing boat. We are taking part in the race in order to raise money for the AHOY Centre.
The AHOY Centre's primary objective is to support disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities within the Greater London Area. It offers participants the experience, opportunities and new horizons gained through water-based activities. All money raised through this event will go towards the purchase of vital equipment and support required to enable this Charity to continue operating. As a team we have seen the great work that the AHOY centre does week in week out and truly thank you for any support you can give.
So please dig deep and donate whatever you can.
