Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

The last time I challenged myself to anything was back in 2011 when I went to 55+ gigs in a year which is a bit more that one every week. Actually, it's something which just happened and it was great.

2013's challenge is completely different, terribly more challenging than 2011 but leaps and bounds more meaningful. Truth be told, completely crazy.

Not only am I hiking 100 kilometres in under 30 hours along the South Downs (total ascent at 2500 metres), I'm also doing it for charity.

Through Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust, the money raised will be used to help Gurkha ex-servicemen of the British Crown. Some examples would be:

1. Providing clean water and sanitation during emergencies.

2. Funding long-term projects in areas such as health or education that help people work their way out of poverty. (building classrooms, training trachers, buying books, livelihood traning, etc.)

3. Provide financial and medical aid to the most destitute Gurkhas and to fund community aid projects in Nepal.

Sounds like a crazy and monumental challenge but it will be an amazing personal achievement both physically, mentally, and in the knowledge that the money raised will be for a truly worthwhile cause.

So please support me in this challenge and the cause behind it. Every penny counts and will push me to complete this gruelling challenge.
