<div class="art-article"> <h2> <div style="text-align: center;">Stoke Mandeville Intensive Care Unit</div> <div style="text-align: center;">Fund Raising</div> </h2> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Hopefully most of us will never see the inside of an Intensive Care Unit. Following an operation for bowel cancer my wife, Louise&nbsp;was recently very ill so I spent many hours sitting by her bedside and saw at first hand what a wonderful job the staff in ITU do.</p> <p>I was so impressed that I decided I would try and help raise money to buy some additional equipment allowing patients to recover more quickly.</p> <p>&nbsp;On <strong>6th April</strong> I&nbsp;ran&nbsp;an interactive workshop teaching a little about muscles, stretching techniques and how to help prevent backache, RSI, stress and many other aches and pains.&nbsp; This was aimed at anyone driving a car or sitting at a desk.</p> <p>It took place at:<br /><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>De Vere Uplands Conference Centre<br />Four Ashes Road,<br />Cryers Hill,<br />High Wycombe HP15 6LB</strong></p> <p>De Vere&rsquo;s kindly allowed me free use of their marquee&nbsp;.</p> <p>It&nbsp;followed a 4Networking breakfast meeting.&nbsp; During this meeting we held a fund raising auction to help my aims and raised a staggering &pound;3000 in just 20 minutes.</p> <p>If you would like to make a donation to help that would be very much appreciated.</p> <p><strong>Thanks for your support!</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Specifically </strong>they need <a href="http://www.careflex.co.uk/chairs/careflex-chairs/hydrotilt/default.aspx">rehabilition chairs</a> to help patients regain their mobility after extended periods in bed.</p> </div>
