We support families after a death on duty to help rebuild their shattered lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am upping my game and doing 3 Challenges all in the name of raising money for Care of Police Survivors (COPS)

COPS is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, rebuild their lives. It aims to ensure that survivors have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy, and that they remain part of the police family. COPS enables survivors to help survivors. Only another survivor can fully understand what new survivors endure, and that shared experience is the basis for the peer support programme. The police service does not have the resources to maintain support for these families beyond the immediate aftermath of the death. That is where 'Care of Police Survivors' comes in. To help ensure this help continues please PLEASE sponsor me!

So Challenge 1.

Saturday 2nd May 2015, 4pm. Cycle the London to Paris 24hour Challenge. This Challenge is to cycle 200miles from London to the Eiffel Tour in Paris within 24hours. Crazy I hear you say.......probably, but that makes it a challenge and a reason for you to dig deep!!

******UPDATE, Challenge completed in 22hours 24minutes******

Challenge 2.

Between the 24th and 26th July 2015 I am taking part in the 3rd annual UK Police Unity Tour. 99 colleagues and I will be cycling from the National Police Memorial on The Mall in London to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.  This will be the 2nd year I take part. The tour covers 170miles over 3 days. The tour raises a huge amount of money for COPS and concludes by joining the COPS survivors weekend including attending their annual service of remembrance.

This year I am riding for the memory of Police Constable Kenneth Brodie. Kenneth was killed aged 34 on Wednesday 8th January 1997. Kenneth’s police patrol car was involved in a three car collision whilst on mobile patrol on the A76 near Mennock, Dumfries-shire.

******UPDATE, Challenge completed******

Challenge 3.

Sunday 2nd August 2015. Cycle the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. This Challenge follows the legacy of the 2012 Olympics. The Route is 100miles long starting in Stratford and finishing on the Mall as the Olympic road race did 3 years ago.

Thank you in advance for your donation. You are a star for helping me to help COPS. Please give as generously as you can. Every little helps.
