Great North Run 2010 · 19 September 2010 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

In August 2000 Simon's father Stuart lost his 3 year battle with Motor Neurone Disease and finally found peace.

This is year 7 of Simon's attempt to run 25 consecutive Great North Runs in his father's memory and in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. It is also Daisy's first Mini Great North Run in memory of the Grandfather she never met. At the tender age of 5, Daisy doesn't understand why Grandpa isn't here but she does know that he would have loved her very much - because we tell her everyday.

Motor Neurone Disease is cruel and unforgiving and the MNDA is tireless in its pursuit of any form of cure.

It is a truly worthwhile cause.
