Keswick Mountain Rescue Team comprises 45 members, all unpaid volunteers, who are available at all times of the day and night in any weather, 365 days per year, to assist those in distress and lost on the mountains of the northern Lake District. Currently, we attend about 136 rescues a year.

Story

Two and a half years ago, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were instrumental in saving my life after a mountaineering accident. Without their fast actions and incredible skill I wouldn't have survived.

During a mountain marathon I slipped and fell 150m down the side of Blencathra in the Lake District suffering multiple complex injuries. After the rescue by Keswick MRT I spent two years in rehab and am now able to repay some of the debt I owe them.

This year I'll compete in three events:

Dorney Lake Duathlon - 6 March (5k run, 20k bike, 5k run)

London Triathlon - 31 July (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run)

Great North run - 18 September (Half marathon)

I raised over £1500 last year with my three event series, this year I'm aiming to raise a further £1000. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon
