We’re Age UK and we’re here to make sure every older person feels included and valued. Whether it’s providing free information and advice, tackling loneliness and isolation or campaigning for older people’s rights – we’ll be there. Your support makes it possible.

Story

In April 2018, I will be part of a team rowing across the North Sea from Ramsgate to Nieuwpoort, Belgium in an effort to raise money for Age UK.

We are aiming to complete the row in under 24 hours (that is 24 hours cold, wet, tired, blistered, seasick and struggling in a rowing boat). I am also terrified of open water.

The aim of this madness is to increase awareness and raise money for the great work that Age UK do to combat loneliness and improve health and wellbeing in old age. Loneliness causes depression, increases the likelihood of strokes and heart attacks by a third, and doubles the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

If you are able to, please donate generously!
