When an adult or child has been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, Havens Hospices can provide the care they need, ‘Making every day count’. Our specialist Care Teams can support them in the comfort of their own home and through our hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Story

As I'm sure you all know my Mum (Catherine or Kate Watkins) died aged 55 in October 2010 from Pancreatic Cancer. Fair Haven's provided her with end of life care in her final hours, their care was amazing and without them I really do not know how we would have coped. My Mum would have loved to have raised money for them. It was on her list of things to do, so I have taken it upon myself to continue fundraising and raising awareness on her behalf !

The work that Fair Havens and Little Havens does is amazing. They provide care to adults and children with life limiting or terminal illnesses. They are a charity and rely on the public to keep supporting them, so they are able to keep supporting the people that really need their help when it really matters. Most of their workforce are volunteers, providing a service to the Hospice's free of charge. I believe in this charity and the outstanding things that they do, so much so I am now working for them !

I would be over the moon if you could sponsor me for taking part in the Southend Half Marathon. I am not a runner, quite the opposite, so this is a massive thing for me to sign up to, and something that I am sure my Mum will be stunned that I am taking part in !

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
