When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

The Six Striding for Stroke Team comprises family members Andy Cole, David Haworth, Joe Smerdon, Louise Haworth, Tom Smerdon & Victoria Pyne.  When we realised that we were all runners, we decided to join forces and take part in the Robin Half Marathon on 27 September 2015.  As we all have close family who have suffered the effects of stroke, we decided to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Stroke is one of the biggest health challenges of our time and the Stroke Association is the only UK-wide charity supporting stroke survivors of all ages.  A stroke happens in an instant but its effects can last a lifetime.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  Any amount that you are able to donate will be put to very good use to raise awareness of stroke and on stroke prevention; The Stroke Association invests nearly £3 million in research every year.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
