Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A few of you might (or may not) already know about how my mum was diagnosed with Angina/Arrhythmia Bradycardia (a slow and irregular heart rate) and resulted in my mum having to be fast-tracked within 4 weeks to have a pacemaker fitted to catch it in time. It turns out my mum had been suffering with the symptoms for many years which was mis-diagnosed as just high blood pressure. This could have been a fatal mistake.

I have recently discovered a charity which specialises in this specific condition called - 'Arrhythmia Alliance: The Heart Rhythm Charity'. Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A) is a coalition of charities, patient groups, patients, carers, medical groups and allied professionals who dedicate their efforts to not only raise awareness of these cardiac arrhythmias but also improve diagnosis, effective correct treatment and the quality of life for people with these conditions.

In December 2011, I participated in a self-funded tandem skydive for the charity (a video is a available for you to watch in the gallary section) and carried out newspaper and radio interviews to raise awareness. Now I am training for a self-funded assent of Kilimanjaro. Along with the training preparation and climb of the mountain I will also be shooting a documentary film of the year including interviews of cardiologists and concenting patients to further raise the awareness of the conditions linked to the Arrythmia's.

So if you know me, my amazing mum or know someone with a heart condition or someone with a pacemaker, or even a heart or a mum. Please support my self-funded tandem skydive in December for the Arrhythmia Alliance.

I'll be updating this page regularly to keep everyone up to date with events and local fundraisers.

So please dig deep and donate now.
