Story

So, in the summer of 2012 around 25 of us will be on our way to Africa ready to climb the beast that is Mount Kilimanjaro for the charity 'Dig Deep'.

~

Kilimanjaro, believed to mean 'White Mountain', is situated in Tanzania and is 5,895m into the sky. (Roughly 18x the height of the Eiffel Tower). It will take six days to complete the climb and will test both our physical and mental strength along the way.

~

The charity 'Dig Deep,' (www.digdeep.org.uk) focuses on delivering renewable energy projects to provide water, cooking gas and electricity to deprived communities in Kenya. The money I raise from climbing Kilimanjaro will fund their next water project. It is a great honour to be a part of something that can change so many lives and I just need to make sure I do the charity proud by raising as much money as I can.

~

Those of you that know me will understand exactly what I'm like and will already know that this is a major challenge for me. But throughout the run up to the trek, I will be ensuring my fitness levels are up to an all time high and will be holding various fundraising events, so make sure you keep an eye out!

~

You can sponsor through this online page, or contact me through various forms of communication (facebook, phone etc) to sponsor me personally. Any small or large donations would be greatly appreciated. The target is £2,500, I aim to earn at least £1000 myself to pay for expenses I will need for the trip. All money donated by others, will be donated straight to the charity 'Dig Deep'.

~

......No doubt by the end of it, we will all need an alcoholic beverage or two and to my knowledge some of the camps along the way sell beer, Hurray! (joke, of course.)

So anyway, thankyou for taking the time to look at my page!
