Sleep Out 2015 · 25 September 2015 ·

Strides is a community housing association that believes in maximising the social value of buildings for people and communities. Our goal is to bridge the support gap that prevents people moving forward, creating safe, high-quality spaces where people can navigate their way through life and society.

Story

The West London Day Centre is a charity based in Marylebone, London that aims to get homeless people off the streets and into accommodation and employment. We also provide basic services including hot breakfasts, showers and laundry for our clients to make use of everyday. The money raised from the Sleep Out 2015 will help to fund our Advice Service, which allows our clients a one-on-one session with a Project Worker to help them into accommodation, find employment and gain access to benefits and entitlements.

The Sleep Out is a chance to swap your bed for a night spent sleeping out in the centre of London to raise money so that others no longer have to. The event will be held in Manchester Square in Marylebone, just a short walk from the Day Centre itself. We will be providing hot refreshments and entertainment in the evening then, on the Saturday morning we will all walk back to WLDC to have a hot breakfast in our canteen, just as our clients do everyday.

Last year the Day Centre helped 280 people into accommodation and with your help we hope to do the same this year.
