Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the page of the Slimming World Virgin London Marathon Team 2013.
On April 21st, fix fantastic runners will represent Slimming World's fundraising arm SMILES on the world's most famous 26.2 mile course around the capital. Between them they've lost more than 40st with their local Slimming World groups and transformed their lives, discovering a love of running along the way. Now they're putting their new found fitness to the test to help change even more lives and raise money for SMILES' charity partner for 2013, Cancer Research UK.
Our five fabulous London marathon runners are:
Matt Briggs, 30, who has lost nearly 17st and now runs his own Slimming World groups in his hometown of York.
Natalie Beecher, 35, has shed more than 9st at Yvonne Ashpole's Slimming World group in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.
Russell Warren, 35, from Bedford, attends Lorraine Killen's Slimming World group where he has lost more than 5st.
Kim Cotton, 39, is a Slimming World Consultant from Southampton. She's lost 5st 4lb so far on her weight loss journey.
Kathryn Briggs works at Slimming World head office in Derbyshire as part of the design team. She is a Slimming World Target Member having lost 6st and a veteran marathon runner after completing the course 14 times before.
And, last but not least, the special sixth member:
Hayley Hooper is an honorary member of the team. Hayley was due to join the Slimming World Virgin London Marathon team on the world-famous course on April 21st, until she found out that she had won a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Dubai with Slimming World for all of her hard work in supporting slimmers to lose weight and change their lives. Determined not to let down all of the people who'd pledged donations or to turn her back on a challenge, Hayley will now be running the 26.2 miles on a treadmill in Dubai!
