We provide respite breaks to young carers and vulnerable children

Story

The Honeypot charity offers long-term support to vulnerable children and young carers aged between 5-12years. Honeypot provides respite breaks at the Honeypot House in the New Forest, which is a magical place for children to visit. The charity also provides ongoing out-reach support in local communities through their Playbus, which is a specially adapted mobile activity centre.

Honeypot gives young carers a break from demanding and stressful responsibilities at home and provides a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential.

The charity supports around 1000 children each year from a variety of backgrounds, such as young carers who also perform a surrogate role at home, often caring for terminally ill or chronically ill loved one, or a parent with a drug, alcohol or mental health problem. They also work with vulnerable children from homes with extreme social, financial or emotional challenges.

We have decided as a team to climb Snowdon in September to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales at an altitude of 3,560ft above sea level. It should take approximately 6 hours for us to reach the summit and to come back down again. Our aim is to raise £750 which will provide the support for one Honeypot child for the year. This includes a respite break, 3 visits from the Honeypot playbus, a Christmas present, a birthday present, amongst other things; but most of all the chance to have a childhood and make new friends.

Please give genorously and help us to help the Honeypot children.

 Many Thanks
