So I was lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it to get a place in the Virgin London Marathon 2011! I have decided to run in aid of a charity that is new and very close to my heart - The Katie Piper Foundation. Many of you will know of Katie Piper from the newspapers and her more recent Channel 4 Documentary that aired last year but what you may not know, is, that she is my friend and I lived with her when her attack took place. 

I have seen Katie go from strength to strength from my first visit to the hospital the day after the attack to today when she is forging this fantastic charity to help other burns victims. 

Through The Katie Piper Foundation, Katie is campaigning for greater awareness of burns survivors, increased support for burns survivors in the UK and for the pioneering surgery she received with a ground-breaking treatment. Each victim has their own story to tell and I know that with the help from the Katie Piper Foundation they will be able to rebuild their lives in the way that I have watched my friend do over the last few years.
