Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
I'm Sofia, aged 8 and live in leyland, near Preston in England.
I have decided that I would like to do something to raise money for my favourite charity (WWF) and have decided to climb the tallest mountain in the UK. This mountain is called Ben Nevis and is in the north west of Scotland. It is 1,334 metres high (4,409 feet) and I am going to try to climb to the top of it on Sunday 25 July 2010.
I am going to be climbing with my father and he says that if I get to the top I will be the highest person in the UK.
Please help me along my way by making a donation (however big or small). I would really like to raise as much money as I can for my charity and knowing that people are supporting me will really help me get to the top.
I am determined to do this and will have my father put up a picture on here to show me at the top.
You can check the weather on Ben Nevis on the day I am doing my climb, by following this link

UPDATE !
2 July 2010
This weekend I'm going up to Cumbra to do a 15 mile walk with my Fa, good practice for getting up Ben Nevis he tells me. We're going to be walking something called the Kentmere Horseshoe...wonder if I will see any horses.
4 July 2010
Started our walk around Kentmere Horseshoe this morning, was a bit dull and grey but was not expecting what happened when we got to the top of the fells. We ended up walking in cloud and horizontal rain. I was soaked to the skin. The weather got so bad that we decided to cut our walk short rather than risk getting lost in the cloud especially as it was hard to see where you were going. I've put up a picture of a very wet and windy me :)

Exciting news today, I had an e-mail from the campaign manager of WWF who head about my walk on Twitter. He wished me lots of luck on my walk :)

At last, I have now raised over £200 (my original target). Thank you very much to everybody who has sponsored me and now off to try an reach my next target.

Very excited today. Got news that some of the team from my favourite magazine (National Geographic Kids) have sponsored me and even said that if I send them a photograph of me at the top of Ben Nevis and a short e-mail they will include my in a future edition of the magazine.

No training walk this weekend, as it is my birthday party. Going Ice Skating at the Blackburn Ice Arena. Lets hope no broken bones as a result !
18 July 2010
Final weekend before my Ben Nebis Challenge on Sundeay 25 July 2010. Setting off early for a walk up in the Lake District. Lets hope the weather is a bit more kind than last time when I had to abandon the walk.
Trying out my new walking gear that I got from Outdoor Action in Blackburn yesterday. So excited about my new pink Helly Hansen waterproof coat and black sprayway waterproof trousers.
So close to reaching £300 now, I hope to get a few more sponsors before my climb next weekend.
Monday 19 July 2010

Took my walking kit to school today as Mrs Sharples the school head said that the school were goiong to do a press release so hoping to get my photo in the papers.
Now over the £300 mark. Thank you very much to John Broughton for your donation. It means a lot to me and WWF :)

Well I did it !!! It was hard work and the weather was terrible, we were walking in cloud almost all the way up and the view from the summit ... well there wasn't any ! :(
I'll ask my Fa to put some pictures (and hopefully a video) of me on the top of Ben Nevis later on today.
Thanks to everybody who donated money :)
