Bath Half Marathon 2016 · 13 March 2016 ·

King’s has been named the 31st best university in the world and 5th best in the UK in the QS World University rankings 2026. As we look towards our 200th anniversary, King's vision is to make the world a better place through our excellence in teaching, research and service to society.

Story

I've signed myself up for the Bath Half on March 13th 2016. This will be my first half marathon, so I am busy training (alongside some lovely side-kicks) to get myself to a half decent standard! I am going to be raising money for Crohn's Disease. I've had Crohn's since I was 17 and have been in and out of hospital with it over the years, so last year when I was told that a cure is on the horizon. I decided to do my bit to help raise money as part of a team aiming to raise £470,000 of which £179,000 has already been achieved. The full amount will mean human trials can begin.

The few amazing scientists out there who are busy doing all this research are unfortunately up against the all-powerful drug companies, who make buckets of money out of Crohn's patients! These research teams rely on donations from the public to help fund their research into the development of a new vaccine that will (hopefully!) one day cure Crohn's.

All money raised will be sent to the King's College London MAP research team, led by Dr. Hermon-Taylor. If you could spare even 50p towards my run, that would be wonderful and hugely appreciated!!! Fingers crossed I will be able to run like the wind! Thank you xxx

P.S. Jono Hope says he will buy me a present for every mile I complete on the day. You saw it here.
