Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

On 7th June 2013 I will be climbing Kilimanjaro in just 6 days and hoping to raise as much money as possible for The Stroke Association, a charity close to my heart.

The climb will no doubt be the hardest thing I have ever done physically, mentally and emotionally especially with the altitude sickness, sleeping in tents in -20 degrees and not having a bath/shower in 6 days. I know my whole body will ache every step of the way but if I can reach my target of £2,600 for The Stroke Association it will be worth all the pain and hard work gone into it. Please find itinerary at bottom to show it is no mean feat!!

The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through it's Rehabilitation and Support Services. These include Communication Support, Family and Carer Support, Information Services and Welfare Grants. They also campaign, educate and inform to increase knowledge of stroke at all levels of society, and they act as a voice for everyone affected by stroke.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep, spread the word and sponsor me now.

Many thanks for your support.

Our 6 day Machame Route trek follows a route from the south western side of the park, and approaches the summit of Kibo via Barafu Camp and Stella Point. It is currently the most popular route on Kilimanjaro and not without good reason. Acclimatisation allowance combined with varied topography and features along the way, make it one of the most interesting ascents of Kilimanjaro and on reaching the summit you will feel on top of the world!
