Abseiling a 14 floors tower for St John Ambulance University of Essex LINKS · 28 April 2014

..At Essex we’re not like other SU’s and we don’t want to be. We're a group of 13,000 students on a mission, an adventure to become the world’s most student-centred organisation. It’s ambitious and challenging, yet short enough to fit in a tweet. With two characters spare.

Story

In 2014 the University of Essex celebrates its 50th anniversary, while the St John Ambulance LINKS Society celebrates 10 years of providing first aid training and event cover on campus.
The society plans to run the 50th Anniversary First Aid Legacy Project, which will aim to provide essential lifesaving first aid skills and valuable nationally recognized qualifications (
‘Essential and Basic First Aid’) to 500 individuals from the University's extended community. This course covers emergency life support techniques as well as how to deal with minor and deteriorating conditions in any casualty.

I consider that knowing first aid really 'makes the difference between a life lost and a life saved' and the money fund-raised will go for this cause through The University of Essex Student's Union.
