So here I am, little ole me, a gal who started life with knock-knees and the gait of a galloping spider, now tackling my first half marathon at the ripe old age of 36 (OK almost 37, but not quite!). Yes my back is knackered, my knees crack, and my hips seize up if I sit down for too long, but come March 3rd I am Silverstone bound. So I urge you to support this ugly duckling in her journey to become the swan of Silverstone - please please please dig deep into your pockets and support me in my torturous journey in aid of this worthy cause!

OK so now for the serious stuff ...breast cancer is an illness that will touch us all in some way during our lives. I not only have family members who have been diagnosed with the disease, but also some very close and wonderful friends. Friends who, with total selflessness, take on the Big "C" with awe-inspiring courage and determination.

We don't think twice about indulging a spontaneous £1 on the lottery, it's only a pound after all and the gains if you win could be huge - as the adverts say "it could be you!" So why not give that extra pound, or more (that would be nice!), or whatever you can afford to give, to support the wonderful work of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and help them to win the fight against this horrible disease. In the words of "that" iconic film "Choose Life"!
