This coming summer, I shall Klimb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

Date: Thursday 26th June 2013 

The summit of Kilimanjaro stands at 5,895m! Its snow-capped peak shall be a beautiful sight, and challenge that I am prepared to tackle. My adventure shall include undertaking the landscape and adapt to the altitude to reach the summit.

I am choosing to support Meningitis Research Foundation as all of the money I raise shall go towards funding research to prevent meningitis and septicaemia. MRF promote the education and awareness of the illness and give support to sufferers and their family. 

A typical donation can go towards purchasing any of the following:

£1 - 100 symptoms cards.

£5 - 1 school or university information pack.

£10 - 1 hour of in-depth support.

£25 - 1 hour of a typical research project.

£100 - 20 information packs for GP surgeries and health professionals.

£250 - funding for the MRF helpline for half a day.

 

By signing up to this challenge, I have committed myself to raising a minimum of £2650 for MRF. I am achieving this by small fundraising events, local raids and collection, and sponsorship from family and friends.
