Yorkshire 3 peaks · 19 May 2017

Every 5 minutes, someone dies from heart diseases in the UK. We need to tackle this problem head on, and we need to start today. Your donations will fund lifesaving medical research to find new treatments and cures. We need your help, until there are no more deaths from heart diseases.

Story

I am taking on the challenge of completing part of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Each year the company I work for has a nominated charity and
this year it is Heart Research UK. Heart conditions affect so many of us and Heart Research UK do so much work to fund pioneering medical research for the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease. I couldn't say no. I really hope you can support me and the charity and donate what you can.

The charity we are raising money for has even more special
meaning as 2017 is both Emerald’s and Heart Research UK's 50th Anniversary. Also in February, 2014, Martin Fojt (Chairman of Emerald Publishing) suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack, which was a huge surprise and loss to us all. Sudden Cardiac Death (SDC) of this type is responsible for over 3 million deaths per year, worldwide and is the focus of a specific piece of research that we will support this year.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
