SMCF promotes the welfare of orphan and vulnerable children, regardless of race or religion, in disadvantaged urban Ethiopian communities through supporting community-led projects and by raising awareness in the UK. We work in close partnership with Ethiopian organisations to achieve our aim.

My story

As some of you are aware, I will be taking part in my very first half marathon 'Run to the Beat' on Sunday 27th September 2009.

Having been training seriously for over 4 years now, I thought this was a fantastic opportunity to test myself and to make all the early morning starts worthwhile. I figured it was about time that I put all my talk and hard efforts to a good use.

I will be running on behalf of St Matthews Children Fund (Ethiopia), which is a charitible organisation that helps to promote the welfare of children in disadvantaged communities of Ethiopia.

Anything that you are able to donate, however small, would be greatly appreciated and will make a massive difference to the lives of the children of Ethiopia.
