Story
As you may already know, I’ve signed and sealed my fate by committing to run the Miami Half Marathon on January 30th 2011…
I’m running in memory of a great friend, Freddie Wyvill, who is very sadly is no longer with us. However, if it were not for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, Freddie wouldn’t have lived longer than a year and we’d never have had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him at all.
For me, running the marathon is a way of saying THANK YOU for his short life and all the wonderful memories he gave us. By running for the CHSF, I am hoping to raise money, which will help support children in similar situations.
I’ve already started my training and must admit, I’m not looking forward to tackling the snow drifts that the winter season will bring to NYC. Being built somewhat like a daddy longlegs does not bode well for flailing legs on icy pavements…. It will certainly be a challenge and a half!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please, please support me and CHSF. I promise to keep you updated on the trials and tribulations along the way!
Love
Sophie
