Palace to Palace 2017 · 1 October 2017 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

On Sunday 1st of October I'll be cycling 45 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle with a team of Accenture colleagues, to raise funds for and awareness of the Princes Trust's wonderful work with young people!

The trust have run the Palace to Palace fundraiser race for the last few years to so that they can keep providing their life-changing schemes and programmes for young people looking to get into work and set up businesses. This year I'd like to support them by raising £300, with a little help from my friends ..!

If seeing me in all the gear on a race bike isn't incentive enough to donate, some examples of/links to the wonderful ways the Trust will use your money to support underprivileged young people are described below.

> The Fairbridge programme works with young people aged 16 to 25, giving them the motivation, self-confidence and skills they need to change their lives.

> Get into is a short vocational course that develops young people's skills in a specific sector for 16 to 25-year-olds.

>Team is a 12-week personal development course for 16 to 25-year-olds, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week.

> Enterprise Programme teaches young people with social enterprise / start - up ideas essential business skills

> Trained, Talent Match Mentors (like my mum and soon, me) are paired with young people to guide and support them on their journey to employment and independence

Whilst it sounds generic and cliche, the trust can have a massive impact on an individual's life, so please donate generously to them, or share the work the Trust does with people you think could be interested!
