My story

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to run the Reading Half Marathon to raise money for a wonderful charity "Rosie's Rainbow Fund".

Why Rosie's Rainbow Fund?

Rosie’s Rainbow Fund is a local UK children’s charity, which raises funds through charity events and charitable donations, and uses these funds to support hospitals, groups and families with disabled or ill children or families who are suffering bereavement through the loss of a child. The charity was set up by the family of Rosie Mayling, who tragically died from vasculitis in 2003

The Charity provides music and art therapy to hospitalised children, funds research into childhood diseases and supports parents during their child's stay in hospital

It is a small local charity that's needs our support, it has helped so many family's, one of those family's is the Megson Family whose children attend the same school as my son. Unfortunately their eldest daughter Arlia was diagnosed with a very rare devastating illness called vessel renal vasculitis (the same illness as Rosie Mayling) which causes inflammation and damage to the blood vessels which can also effect other organs

Arlia has to undergo various forms of different treatment including chemotherapy along with taking medication for pain relief on a daily basis.

So please help support me and dig deep!

I know finances can be tight straight after Christmas, but lets remember how fortunate most of us are to have healthy children and please support the much needed family's out there with sick children......your donation will make a difference, 100% of what is raised will go to the charity.

Love

Sophie
