2017 Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon · 24 September 2017 ·

We perform pioneering research into genetic abnormalities of brain tumours, novel imaging techniques & drug delivery. We also excel in diagnosis, innovative treatment & raising awareness. Additional funding will enable crucial advances to be made in understanding & treating childhood brain tumours.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Each year, hundreds of children and their families are faced with the frightening diagnosis of a brain tumor. Those who survive are often left with disabilities as a result of the brain tumour itself along with the intensive treatments. This month alone, over 45 parents in the UK will have heard the words, “Your child has a brain tumour”. Today 7 out of 10 children will survive the disease, however brain tumours remain the biggest cancer killer of children and young adults in the UK.  Despite this, brain tumour research receives less than 1% of the UKs total cancer research funding.

On 24th September I will be running the Robin Hood half marathon as part of the UoN500 Life Cycle 7 team. Together we aim to raise funds to support vital brain tumour research to help beat children's brain tumours.
