Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am training for an English Channel Solo Swim in August for two charities - Marie Curie and Make a Wish. I am still in full time education at Mid Kent College, Gillingham where I am studying on the level 3 public services course, and have been there the past three years since the college opened. I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and am currently a member of the Black Lion Swimming Club. I have already swum in two relays in 2008 and 2011, but this year my aim is to swim it solo.I am currently training in the pool and also every week in the port of Dover. It is very intensive training and will eventually be training a few 10 hours sessions at Lake Windermere to check my fitness level for the English Channel. I am hoping you can support either one of these charities. I am hoping to complete this swim in 12 hours. I will keep you updated on how my training goes and at the moment I am training in the sea for 3 hours at any one time.

Thanks for looking at this. Sophie
