Clipper Round the World Race · 31 December 2020 ·
On Sep 1st i'll be departing London on a 70ft yacht and racing 6000 nautical miles across the Atlantic to Uruguay in S.America.
Given my lack of sailing experience i'm calling the Atlantic crossing the warm up leg.... not only because we'll be melting as we sail our shiny, blue boat across the equator, but also because i'm hoping this leg will help me develop my sea legs. After 35 days, sea sickness should be thing of the past... right?!
As for the Southern Ocean.... lets just say I fell for the Clipper advertising. 80 foot swells, boat speeds of well over 30 knots and wind speeds that can reach up to 70 mph.... the adrenaline junky in me awoke! It was only later i learned about the horizontal hail, freezing temperatures and the need need to wear a minimum of 7 layers at all times....for 25 days! Wahhooo, this one should be fun!!
Note 100% of donations will go to Unicef as i've paid everything needed to partake in this adventure already.
And there's been alot of requests for the inevitable melt down videos.... I promise to share if you give generously :P
