Story

Dear all,

I have made the slightly mad decision to do a heart-stopping 289" abseil down the Lloyds Building in the City of London, in aid of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2012.

This year's Lord Mayor (otherwise known as dad!) has chosen 'Fit for the Future as the theme for his Appeal. It aims to support health and wellbeing in the UK, particularly for those from some of our most deprived communities. The primary beneficiary is the Trauma Unit, at the Royal London hospital in Tower Hamlets, an area where infant mortality is double the National average, and there is a high incidence of violent crime. The Trauma Unit sees more patients than any other Unit in the UK, and is also pioneering astonishing new technologies and operations, which will save millions of lives across the world.

The money raised through the Appeal will help to improve trauma care, and also provide sporting opportunities, care and support for disadvantaged young people through: London Youth Rowing, The Rowing Foundation; Fields in Trust and Futures for Kids. These are charities which understand the importance of changing a child's future.

So please dig deep and give what you can to a very worth cause!

Love

Sophie x

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
