Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for this year's London Marathon.
On 3rd October I am taking to the streets of London to tackle this famous run. I will do so with a bounce in my step (ish!) as I remember our friend, rock and pillar of strength Victoria Powell.
We met Victoria when our boys were young and life in our house was more than a bit tricky. Victoria arrived when Jimmy was very ill and helped bring order, comfort and energy when things weren't easy and life was chaotic. She quickly became our friend as she looked after the boys and helped make life a lot smoother. Through this time we also got to know her husband, Jim, and her girls - a warm and loving family.
Very sadly Victoria became ill and in 2019 her battle against this horrible disease ended. Through her battle she showed a spirit and courage that only she could: she was some woman!
While nothing could save Victoria I hope that with your help I can raise as much as possible for Brain Tumour Research as they continue their valuable work.
This is one way I feel I can honour her memory and help others with similar diagnoses in the future. No comfort, but one small gesture...
Thanks in advance for any contributions,
Sophie
