<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Students and staff at South Shields Marine School are taking part in their 'Annual Charity Row' from Castle Quay on Newcastle’s Quayside to the School’s Seamanship Centre at South Shields. The race starts at 10.30am and is a total of 8.4 miles. There will be two crew changes, one at Hebburn and one at the Tyne Dock. </span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">The event is taking place on Saturday 26 May 2012<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"> and there will be 6 boats taking part. There are three boats taking part from South Tyneside College, two are from the Marine school and one from the electrical department. There is one boat from Fleetwood Nautical College, one from TS Collingwood Sea cadets South Shields and one from Marine Insurance company North. The rowers are hoping to raise over £1000 for the Ocean Youth Trust North.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Ocean Youth Trust North delivers challenge, adventure, excitement and self-discovery. Based in the North of England they have worked with thousands of young people and adults, changing lives and inspiring futures. Their vessel James Cook is a 70 foot ketch and has 18 berths in total. They offer voyages from a day sail to a weekend to 5 days and beyond.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Most of those who sail have never been sailing before and many are affected by disability, but there are no passengers onboard – everyone gets fully involved and makes the very most of their experience. The work begins before you step onboard and continues long after James Cook drops anchor. Sail training with OYT North provides thrilling experiences and memories that last a lifetime.</span></span></span></p>
