Firstly thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. As some of you may know I am off to South Africa for a few weeks on a road trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Along the way I intend to undergo many things such as a bungee jump, safari drives etc but the ultimate adrenline rush will undoubtedly be the abseil down Table Mountain in Cape Town.
The abseil is the world's original highest commercial abseil with a 112m descent,1000m above sea level! The event will begin on the morning of 17th Dec where I will walk up Platteklip Gorge to Maclear's Beacon to the highest point of Table Mountain. The scary part - the descent - will take place in the afternoon!
For more pics and details of the event please click on the following link http://www.abseilafrica.co.za/adventures.php?catid=36.
Although I am sure to meet many backpackers along the way, I will be surrounded by many unfamiliar faces so it would be great if you guys can show your support. Any contributions will be going to Ripple Africa which provides support towards the education, environment and healthcare of the children of Malawi. To find out more about the charity please click on the logo below. I have chosen a child-related charity as I have done some work previously in a Peruvian secondary school. My time in Lima made me realise how important it is for their up-bringing to have the resources to give them the opportunities they need for a good start to life.
Thanks for your support and I will let you know how it goes!!!
