On 13th May 2012, Lauren Prater, Jenny Tyrie, Sarah Eastman, Becky Hicks, Fiona White, Sara Brown, Lawrence Tyler and Mike Price will be entering the Newbury Bayer 10k in order to raise money for Cancer Research.

 

We are all work colleagues and members of the South Central Running Club which started in January of this year as a new year’s resolution that has somehow become slightly more serious! Our after work runs have already seen us build up from short jogs around Newbury Business Park, to running up to 6.5k around Thatcham and Newbury, and our sights are now set firmly on completing the Bayer 10k in May. This is going to be a huge challenge for us as novice runners; some of us couldn’t even run 1k without stopping at the beginning of the year!

 

We have all got our personal reasons for running to raise money for Cancer Research. Some of us have had our lives strongly affected by cancer, others want to help raise money and awareness and we all want to push ourselves to run further than we have before to support such a worthy cause. Whatever the reasons are, we would really appreciate the support of our friends, family and colleagues to help us to reach our target and raise money for Cancer Research.
