Thanks for supporting me on this event, it is very much appreciated.

I did the Leeds half marathon last year and did it in 1hr, 58mins which I was very pleased about.

I have wanted to do the Great North Run for a long time now. When Leanne and I went to Newcastle a year or so ago, we walked around a park near the centre and people who had done the run the previous year had donated their photos, and these had been made into a sort of filmstrip, draped over the fences and round the trees. It was so inspiring!

Leanne saw the event being advertised and signed me,up not really expecting me to be picked but I was! It's definitley going to be a challenge for me as training has been sporadic and sleep has been lacking due to a certain young man (!) but I thrive on challenges, so please don't let that put you off!! I aim to complete this run in 1hr 40mins (yes, i'm my own worst enemy!!)

All this is hopefully working up to me running the London Marathon in a year or two, so watch this space!!

Please donate as little or as much as you can, it is a very worthy cause. The money will go towards helping to raise awareness about Endometriosis, which is a lot more common than people might think. It can be very debilititating for the ladies who suffer from it, as well as emotionally difficult to deal with. The money will help the support groups around the country help their members to learn more about their condition and provide guidance to help them through it.
