Story

In April and May I am going to be undertaking the biggest bike challenge I've ever attempted, entitled LEJOG Plus. Over 17 days I will be cycling from Land's End to John o' Groats self supported.

I wanted to do something different to the standard 1,000 mile route, so I'm going via the extreme points of the compass of Britain. These are Lizard Point (S), Lowestoft Ness (E), Corrachadh Mor (W) and Dunnet (N). This adds around 500 miles to my route.

I'm doing all this for ShelterBox. This wonderful charity distributes thousands of boxes containing emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to families affected by diasters around the world. They are often one of the first charities on the ground following major catastrophies.

You can follow my progress at www.twitter.com/spikereid and at www.spikereid.net. I'll be averaging 90 miles a day. That's quite a way, and hopefully combined with such a great cause, worthy of your support.
