Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As you know, each year 12 students travel to our partner schools in Africa. Next year, six Year 11 students will go to the Escola Secundaria Noroeste do 1, in Mozambique and six Year 12 students to Edendale school in Pretoria, South Africa.
We undergo a very competitive application and interview process and, when selected, must raise all of the costs ourselves - £2,500 for South Africa and £2,600 for Mozambique.
When in the country, we teach lessons, help in the school and work with older students from the schools to prepare and run a Sports Festival in the local primary school.
This year the undersigned have been selected as the 12 students to represent the school in Mozambique and South Africa. Obviously, the price of the trip is very high for each of us to pay, and therefore fundraising for our trip is essential.
In just three weeks’ time, beginning Friday 2 December, we have organised a 24-hour Spinathon (on static bikes) for us all to complete in aid of the trip. Like last year it will start at 5.00pm on the evening before the CVC Christmas Bazaar and we will pedal through the night to 5.00pm on Saturday 3 December.
The Spinathon is one of our main fundraisers this year and a lot of planning and organisation has gone into it from us as well as our parents and Miss Hawkes. It would be fantastic if we could have the support of any parents and students willing to sponsor us. Any amount of money will make a big difference.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Comberton Trust Fund and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
As we will be cycling on the static bikes throughout the Christmas Bazaar, donations will be welcome there too.
We thank you so much for your support,
