UPDATE
I managed to complete the Brighton Marathon in 3 hours 56 minutes, so I am really pleased to have achieved the sub 4 hour marathon I was after. It would have been nice to be slightly quicker time but it turned out to be a pretty warm day and unfortunately me, running and heat don’t go together to well. I’m now resting up to be ready for the London Marathon this Sunday. I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me so far. I genuinely appreciate your support and generosity...it will help S.P.R.I.N.G continue their excellent work. Thank you, Nigel.************************************************************
Hello,
As some of you may know I ran the Flora London Marathon in 2007 and again last year. Well for this year’s challenge I've decided to up the ante. Having failed to get a place for London through the ballet I managed to secure a number for the inaugural Brighton Marathon. However, once I’d secured Brighton I was then unexpectedly offered a place in London.
Decisions, decisions....it's the 1st ever Brighton Marathon and the 1st time Virgin will sponsor London. Unable to choose between the two I’ve decided to run them both, seemed like a good idea at the time!!
The Brighton Marathon is on Sunday 18th April and the Virgin London Marathon the following weekend, Sunday 25th April.
I am again raising money for a very special charity that has provided invaluable support to my brother and his wife through a very difficult time. S.P.R.I.N.G. (Supporting Parents and Relatives in Neonatal Grief - www.springsupport.org.uk) are a small charity that will benefit greatly from all donations, of any size. This will enable them to continue providing support to family and friends who experience such loss.
So, if you feel like donating some money to a very worthwhile cause and to help encourage me to complete a rather silly idea I would be more than grateful.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you fancy a laugh at my expense then I’ll see you at the finish line (either or both) :o)
Cheers,
Nigel.
