Balkans Peak Charity Art Raffle · 4 November 2019

We offer support to help people overcome any issue holding them back and provide this from those who know best - people who have been there themselves. Each generous pound raised for us goes towards helping people who have been locked out of society make positive changes to their lives.

Story

Please donate £5 per ticket to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous piece of artwork from water-colour painter, Colin Taylor. All the money raised will be donated to St Giles Trust as part of the Balkans Peak Challenge Team's fundraising efforts.

The piece is titled "Caleta Tortel" and is of a fishing village in Patagonia, Chile.

From the artist, Colin Taylor:

"I've been fascinated by 'landscape; for years; why it looks the way it does, how it's been used, sometimes abused but always shaped by the community who live there and by those who visit it. This exploration of the subject has formed the backbone of my arts practice for the last decade or two and is something to which I return repeatedly.

"Caleta Tortel" is a small fishing community on Chile's Pacific Coast and within Patagonia. In 2018, as part of a trip to climb, bike and kayak, I thought I might make some paintings about its landscape. In the event, it is one of over 30 paintings and drawings now completed of that visit and from which there is to be a solo exhibition in April 2020 at The Embassy of Chile in London, to be opened by Sir Chris Bonington."
