Story
Mozart's famous Requiem is a work of great beauty and particular poignancy, as it was his last composition before his early death at the age of 35. It has often been described as the most heart-wrenching piece of music ever written. On 12 November at St Anne's it will be performed by the Sweelinck Ensemble and Eclectic Voices, directed by Martin Knizia, in the setting of a Eucharistic Service of Remembrance at which we will remember friends and family members. We will offer up our memories and prayers as we listen to Mozart's matchless setting of the words of the requiem: Grant them eternal rest, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine on them.
This concert will cost nearly £2500 to hold and thus far we have raised £1500. Please consider whether you can help by making a donation!
