We are raising funds to preserve our Church and the Bede House

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As we approach the 600th anniversary of the founding of our Bede House by Henry Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury and son of Higham Ferrers, we need to raise the slightly daunting sum of £600,000 to both preserve our beautiful buildings - 800 year old (!) Church, Bede House and Chantry Chapel - and modernise them to make them accessible for the wider community.

To succeed with this ambition, The St Mary's 600 Appeal has been born!

Somewhat limited for available fundraising activities to start contributing to this effort due to COVID, St Mary's Morning Worship group (The Betts, Robinsons, Dallistons, Smiths, Katie & Alex, Nyarai and others!) have decided to do a "virtual pilgrimage" to Canterbury and back, and will be collectively stomping the massive 280 mile distance throughout March and early April, running up to the anniversary of Chichele's death on 12th April.

Your support of our effort would be greatly welcomed and help us to make headway into our fundraising journey!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
