I will be dragging my hefty backside along the Great Wall of China (at least part of it!), and if that alone isn't enough to make you donate then you should also know that I'm doing it for an amazing cause. The Yorkshire Cancer Centre based at St. James Hospital in Leeds is the primary cancer centre in England and the largest in Europe, It provides for 1500 patients a day or so I'm told. At least 50% (but probably more) of all the money donated will be given to the centre with the rest covering the trek costs. This money all goes to provide things beyond the necessary equipment that the NHS provides, like artwork, lightboxes and even more expensive state of the art equiptment that wouldn't otherwise be available. I recently took a tour of the facilities and realised that even small things like artwork on the walls could make a harrowing experience that much more comfortable. I feel this is a brilliant cause well worth the effort, so if you feel like you can donate please do knowing that the money will be put to amazing use, plus it might even mean that my hefty backside may not be so hefty soon.....well I said might!
