Story
From 2pm on 30 October 2010 until 2am on 31 October 2010, I will be writing short stories for charity.
Those of you who have known me for a while will know this is the fourth year I have taken part in the writeathon. For the last three years, we have all written for the same charities, but this year it was decided each writer would choose a charity close to them. I have chosen Diabetes UK this year because my partner Paul is diabetic and I know first-hand how difficult living with diabetes can be. Paul is lucky: his diabetes is usually well controlled and he has people to care for him when it's not. Some people are alone and need all the help and support Diabetes UK can give them.
Last year I wrote a stonking 19.5k words in the twelve hours, and I will be aiming to beat that this year. I don't know if that's actually physically possible, but the more donations I get, the more determined I will be to try!
So get your wallets out! ;)
