My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may be aware my son Jozef was diagnosed with Leukaemia in August 06 at the age of 3 and a half it completely knocked us for six. He was rushed into The Royal Marsden Hospital where he received intensive treatment, lost his hair and gained about a stone in weight, wonderful things steroids.

He was sent home where he now receives weekly visits by nurses, and out patient care at The Royal Marsden & East Surrey Hospital. We have to monitor his temperature twice a day as a high temperature is the first sign of infection, whenever he picks up an infection he spends time in isolation at hospital. He had Chicken Pox just over a year ago which really gave us scare.

The care Joe has received has been second to none, we would like to thank all the medical staff for making Joe's treatment as trouble free as possible.

We would also like to thank all the support staff and Cancer support groups who have helped with information for us or days out for Jozef, a special thanks to the Starlight charity who sent us to Lapland to see Santa at Christmas, we did this with other families with children with life threatening illnesses. You gain an awfull lot of support from people in similar situations.

About a year ago I awoke with the idea that if I did n't cut my hair until the end of Joe's treatment he would be fine and also it would be away in which I could raise money to repay the charities who have so generously helped us.

So nearly a year on and three months to the end of treatment & very long hair. I would like to ask for a donation to help a small charity that has a holiday home in the New Forest, they offer families a break away, in their holiday home at New Milton.

So at the beginning of November I will shave my head, if I reach the £6000 target I will shave just half a head, I don't know if it will be mine but someone will have half a shaved head just for a week, (that will be me I suppose).

So please dig deep and donate now.
