Leeds Rag Bike to Berlin · 19 March 2012

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Easter 2012 - I am setting off from Leeds on my bike to cycle 600 miles to reach Berlin in 8 days - that's 60-90 miles per day!!! (eek) The ferry crossing to the Netherlands is the only part of the journey not pedal-powered.

So why? I am cycling with 50 other Leeds University students to raise over £20,000 for the brilliant Multiple Sclerosis Society. MS is a devastating neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. It's normally diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. The exact cause of MS in unknown and there no cure at present. The MS Society funds research to provide hope for the future and provides important information and support for people with MS.

So the training rides have begun and the padded cycling bottoms have been purchased...

Any donations to support the MS Society will be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you!

Steph x
