Access to clean water, toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. But all over the world, communities are living without these essential human rights, leaving their lives at risk and their potential untapped. Currently 663 million (10% of the world's population) live without safe drinking water and 2.4 billion don't have access to adequate sanitation.  As a result, over 800 children die every day from diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. 

WaterAid aims to transform the lives of some of the poorest and most marginalized populations by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.  With your generous donations, WaterAid hopes to give everyone safe access to water by 2030.

HSBC's Water Program has funded projects to provide: 1.6 million people with clean water, 2.5 million people with adequate sanitation, and 3.1 million people with hygiene education
