My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I cannot praise the Oakhaven Hospice team highly enough - they gave Pete promt, professional and sympathetic care at every stage of his later illness, anticipating problems and symptoms and coming up right away with the appropriate medicine or bit of equipment.  This service, together with seamless co-ordination with the District Nurses, GP and Hospital specialists enabled Pete to stay at home until the end in a dignified, pain-free and peaceful way.

The Hospice itself is in a delightlful setting at the edge of Lymington and offers excellent support for carers as well as for inpatients and patients at home.  It is totally free and is funded mainly from voluntary contributions, with only about 20% of costs met by the NHS.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
